Art Docent

The school's Art Docent program is PTA-funded art curriculum, run by volunteers. Generally, the Art Docent meets with the class once a month to discuss a lesson from the curriculum binder and then demonstrate and lead the class in completing the curriculum-based art project. The PTA purchases supplies for the lessons. Art Docents are also responsible for checking supplies and contacting the Art Docent Chair to order more, if needed, before their lesson. To learn more, check out the document under the Volunteer tab!

There is now a link on the LWSD webpage for Art Docents to find lessons to teach in the classes for every grade level.

The Reflections program is an arts competition hosted annually by National PTA. Each year has it's own theme and students are encouraged to participate by creating an original piece of art relating to that theme. Information packets are sent home with students in the fall with art submission generally in late fall or early winter. You can find more info at the National PTA's Reflections page
